Dive into Digital!

Digital Inclusion refers to the use and benefits of digital technology development by all people according to their needs. It is safe to say that we are all digitally connected now. Because we can contact with a smartphone and send a letter. And we can make friends with people far away. In addition, when you go to a restaurant, the staff sometimes takes orders, but most restaurants are easily taking orders by machines. Unfortunately, however, digital technology is not convenient for everyone. For example, the elderly say that it is hard to buy common hamburgers these days. Because the restaurants are taking orders by machine. The elderly are probably left out without the benefit of digital technology, as most of them, including food orders, vaccinations, utility bills, or banking, are now mostly done with smartphones or laptops.

Digital technologies are developing faster and faster, and older people are behind the times. This is a very serious problem. Therefore, I believe that in order to go to a digitally inclusive society, the inclusion of people who have not adapted to the digital age should be prioritized first. Before technology advances further, even a little bit of the digital gap should be reduced so that they do not feel deprived of their lives. The government should step up for them, but citizens should also actively step up so that all citizens can feel the benefits of digital technology. For example, it would probably be very helpful if civil volunteers help digital lectures for the socially disadvantaged in a nearby library. If we narrow the digital gap like this, we can create a society where everyone fits together.
